A training workshop was delivered by MUHEC in London during February 2019. The workshop focused on ESE topics, curriculum development, innovative learning approaches, pedagogic models and entrepreneurship. The workshops enabled the PCIs to gain from the experiences of EU partners, with feedback being overall quite positive.
The following training session were delivered.
Session title: Cases of innovative learning, teaching and assessment practices

Session objective: Offer training in key areas for the design and delivery of PENS courses
Participants attended a demonstration of how innovation was integrated in teaching, learning and assessment. Prof Dafoulas provided an overview of how aspects of Augmented Reality, Internet of Things, and collaborative technologies were used to enhance student engagement, support learners and ensure that instructors were able to cover certain topics with the use of digital education tools. The session made reference to how certain feedback mechanisms could be used by PENS instructors and emphasised the role of learning portfolios as mechanisms for effective learning. The session also focused on innovative assessment practices using graded observations for assessment and learning.

The session demonstrated the way the SCATE pedagogical model supports the development of online content for various topics. The session focused on the various aspects of the pedagogic model and also covered the functions and features of the SCATE platform. Emphasis was given on aligning the SCATE elements with the creation of engaging content, as well as supporting learner interactions and assessment practices.
