Summary of the activity: 

Faculty members form the three EU partners participated in the project dissemination workshop at Palestine. The EU delegates provided a talk to the workshop participants about, their research interests, and industrial-academia collaboration models. The participants were students and faculty members from the local universities, in the consortium and outside the consortium, professional and practitioners from the local ICT industry. The visits were organized and hosted by Birzeit University on May 2022. Also, participants from the local organization were provided talks.

The talks were as follow:

Title: Blockchain: history, technology, and applications
Name the presenter: Salvador Sanchez, University of Alcala
Brief bio: Ass. Prof. Salvador Sánchez-Alonso holds a PhD. in Computer Science (2005) and a degree in Information and Library Science from the University of Alcala (2010). From 2005, he is part of the Computer Science Department of the University of Alcala. His research interests are Social Network Analysis, Web science and Blockchain technology. He currently participates in several master programs related to blockchain technologies and cryptoeconomy.

Title: (In)Security of Machine Learning for Cybersecurity
Presenter: Giorgio Giacinto
Bio: Giorgio Giacinto is a Professor of Computer Engineering at the University of Cagliari, Italy, where he serves as the coordinator of the MSc degree in Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence. His research interests are in machine learning for malware analysis and detection, and he published more than 170 papers in international conferences and journals. He is the Editor in Chief of the "Security Engineering & Applications" section of the Journal of Cybersecurity and Privacy. He is a member of the managing committees of the Cybersecurity National Lab and the Artificial Intelligence & Intelligent Systems Lab within the CINI consortium, Italy. He also represents the Cybersecurity National Lab within the European Cybersecurity Organization (ECSO). He is a Fellow of the IAPR (International Association for Pattern Recognition) and a Senior Member of the IEEE Computer Society and ACM.

Title: Opportunities of the digital transformation in the financial industry in Palestine
Presenter: Mr. Anwar Jabr
Brief bio: Digital Transformation Acting Director at Palestine Monetary Authority (the central bank of Palestine) holding a bachelor degree in computer science and MBA from Birzeit university. 15+ years working and orchestrating critical financial software systems and databases. Prior to that, I had the chance to work in diverse industries such as telecom and education with emphasis on software development, data science, system integration, and system administration.

Title: Integrating Entrepreneurship into the Curriculum
Presenter: Dr Georgios Dafoulas
